Golden Globes Fashion

None of these glittering women went home with awards from the Golden Globes this year, but they didn't need shiny statues when their fashion choices beamed for them. Amongst the stars that wore metallics to the award ceremony, Emma Stone and Sienna Miller demonstrated the powerful impact from a small dose of shine. Stone wore a jumpsuit by Lanvin and Miller chose a metallic ornamented dress by Miu Miu. Other ladies like Dianne Kruger in Emilia Wickstead, and Julianne Moore in Givenchy, chose louder numbers.

What MATTERS: Metallics, whether styled as an accent or head to toe look, are timeless and appropriate for all ages. Just like the actresses above, go simple with makeup and accessories.

Itty-Bitty Bags

When I first saw Kate Spade's ad campaign featuring Anna Kendrick and their new Cedar Street Mini Maise design, I knew mini bags would soon be everywhere. These teeny treasures may be petit, but they pack tons of fun into a little design.

Mini bags add some punch and a pop of color to any outfit. Many of the mini bags are smaller versions of popular designer handbags. And owning both, the big sister and little sister, is almost too much fun. Even though these bags are small, their unusual size is striking- perfect for the gal that wants to stand out.

What MATTERS: Choose a fun color and where it everywhere, for all occasions. This is a decadent piece that reminds us fashion should be fun; don't worry about practicality.

Lockwood Lavender Farm

I wish these photographs were scratch and sniff because the Lockwood Lavender Farm smelled incredible this past weekend at the Finger Lakes Lavender Festival.

Visiting the picturesque farm was the perfect way to enjoy a sunny Saturday. While I was there, I purchased lavender soap and dried lavender to hang in my closet. I am already impressed by the refreshing smell of my purchases, which were made using lavender that was grown on the farm.

You can read my article about the experience here

More #FashionableFriends

Looking to celebrities and high end designers for fashion inspiration can be sensational and an outlet for indulgence. But sometimes, just looking to your best friends for affordable, accessible, and modern fashions is even better (plus there’s always the possibility of borrowing!). And who better to look to than the sophisticated and unique women of the Delta Phi Epsilon sorority at Drexel University.
The sisters celebrated their graduating seniors at their Senior Send-Off Picnic this spring while wearing fresh and fashionable summer statements. You may wonder if the bold prints, vivacious colors, or feminine silhouettes are the best components of their outfits, but in fact, it’s the affordability of each look! Every key piece can be purchased at a local mall in stores like Forever 21, Charlotte Russe, Old Navy, Nordstrom Rack, and Express.

Publications

This past spring I wrote for the d&m magazine, a student publication at Drexel University. The annual magazine's new edition came out this spring and it features articles about style and culture in Philadephia, not to mention some gorgeous and inspiring fashion spreads.

Learn about my friend and beauty YouTuber, Alex Difabio in Philly's Beauty Youtuber (page 35) and why millennials are awesome in Sorry We're #NotSorry (page 90). Read it here: d&m magazine.

Also, I contributed to the Journal of Culture and Retail Image in the section, Was My Family Fashionable? My piece, All in the Family explores how fashion is passed down through generations. It was a lot of fun to explore my family history and discover where my stylish sensibilities come from. The photo's above are some vintage shots of the women that came before me including my fashionable great-grandmother (who was a flapper!), my grandmother, and my mother.

It seems like I am always talking about my #FashionableFriends, but how can I not? Their fearless and effortlessly cool sense of style is always inspiring.

My sorority sisters, featured above, showcased some of the best summer party dresses and trends in these photos- bright hues, deep necklines, statement necklaces, and my favorite, the envelope hemline seen on Erica and Sam.
